This book, originally published in 1846, spends a few chapters on the Kemble school of acting (Mrs Siddons and her brother John Kemble), however, the book branches out and describes other actors and various aspects of London's early 19th century theatre, especially focusing on the first decade. Excellent primary source for authors and researchers. For the casual reader intrested in the subject, first person conversation at its best.
