The Georgian Buildings of Bath.
Declared the most comprehensive account of Bath's Georgian architecture yet published. Relying on contemporary sources, Ison compiled a history of architecture, architects, and builders. A historical survey with biographical details of the people involved is followed by detailed descriptions of all important buildings, chronologically arranged. City planning, consturction, and building interiors also have chapters. The book also includes 136 pages of plates, many with two pictures per page, and line drawings and half-tone illustrations are scattered throughout the text. Many photographs are from the National Buildings Record. A foldout map "Plan of the City of Bath" showing buildings built from 1700 to 1830 is very helpful. Jacket edges heavily worn. Corners bumped. Previous owner's bookplate. Pages clean. Faber and Faber Ltd. London. 1948. Hb, Dj. USED. $30.00
