To the Lighthouse.

Virginia Woolf's husband Leonard thought this 1927 novel a masterpiece. The narrator seems to be a fluid presence in and out of the minds of the characters, and in the middle section, perhaps reporting as the house that witnessed years of change experienced by the family and their friends. The trip to the lighthouse almost never happens, but is finally achieved as the guest painter decides her vision is finally complete. No jacket. Harcourt, Brace & World, Inc. 1955. Hb. USED. $7.00
