Memoirs of the Comte De Gramont.
SKU: 17898
Edited with an Introduction by David Hughes. A work of fiction that nonetheless included plenty of juicy gossip about the court of Charles II and other characters of the latter half of the 17th century. Never meant to be published, it became a sensation when it was released in 1713. This copy has condition issues, with a private library stamp affixed in a few places, and some discoloration of the cloth cover. But the pages and illustrations are clean and it's a great reading copy. Note, this is Horace Walpole's translation of the French. The Folio Society. 1965. Hb. USED. $5.00
