Mild green cloth with gilt titles and decorations on the spine. Frontispiece is a photogravure of the 1870 Memoir portrait, otherwise not illustrated. Top pages gilt. Sides and bottom rough cut. No previous owner marks. Very clean pages, not foxed. Very good binding, cloth, all is quite healthy. Each volume is covered with a thin plastic liner, probably explains why the set is so clean.
