Queen Mary's Dolls' House. Official Guide.
SKU: 17566
Designed by the great architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, this 1924 doll house was no toy. Lutyens wanted his doll house to show future generations how a king and queen of England lived in his own time. His design was inspired by Christopher Wren. At 1 to 12 scale, with each piece of furnishing made exactly to scale, working lifts, running water in the bathrooms, and electric lighting thoughout the house, it's truly a marvel. This 29 page stapled guidebook explains many features and has stunning photos. The Singer sewing machine like the one my great-grandmother used and the Hoover, and the books and notecards with stamps! in the library are intense. I am convinced the artists and crafts people didn't make these - they blasted them with a sci-fi shrinking ray gun! A few wrinkles on front cover, otherwise VG. Pitkin. 1992. Stapled card.
